The Unite Parliamentary Staff Branch is here for all staff and interns in Parliament and constituency offices. The Union is here to help with any issues you may have with your boss, or with your work.
We want you to make the most of your time in what is a fantastic place to work.
It can be daunting sometimes to ask your manager what an SI is, where the table office is, or how the headed paper fits into the printer… We’re on hand to link interns with mentors who have been there, done that and got the job!
Just get in touch and we’ll pair you up with a mentor from your Party who may be able to help you find your feet, or give you handy hints on your CV.
We’re also campaigning for more rights for interns in Parliament – by challenging IPSA and working towards better terms and conditions for interns.
And, finally, we’ll be putting on social events throughout the year, to help you build up a network of contacts. Keep a look out for emails from us.
To sign up to the interns network, get in touch with Lucille:
If you want to be a mentor, get in touch with the details of your party and your office, and we’ll find some budding interns looking to learn your tricks of the trade!
